Twenty one storage units, most of them from the Qube steel range: two door stationery cupboards with shelves, side opening tambours, 1800mm lockers, and roll out frames that turn one cupboard into either lateral or suspended filing. There are Impulse shelves as well, so storage can match the desks rather than sitting in the corner looking like it came from a different office. The rule of thumb is steel where it takes a beating and wood where people actually see it.
Choosing office storage
Start with what goes inside. Suspended files need a frame sized for them, and lever arch folders want 320mm to 340mm of clear height, which is why a cupboard on standard shelf spacing swallows less than you assume. Roll out reference shelves and lateral filing frames from the Qube range let a single cupboard do both jobs and be reconfigured later, when the paper finally shrinks.
Then think about height and access. An 1800mm cupboard holds more but needs a step, so keep daily files at chest height and put the archive above. Tambour doors suit tight corridors because nothing swings out into the walkway. Steel storage takes knocks in a print room, cupboards and bookcases in wood finishes suit rooms people sit in, and anything holding personal data wants a lock. Lockers earn their space quickly once desks are shared.
Matching desks and storage
Day to day paper belongs closer than a cupboard. Pedestals and drawers keep it at arm's reach, and Impulse storage picks up the same finishes as the Impulse desks if you want the run to look deliberate. Open shelving works for reference material people grab constantly, while desks with storage built into the frame suit small rooms where a separate unit would block a walkway.
Storage delivered and fitted across Suffolk
Office Masters is run by Neil Andrew Office Solutions, the family business on Edison Close at Ransomes Europark in Ipswich that Neil took on from his father Malcolm and relaunched in 2017. We supply and install office furniture across Suffolk, Essex, Norfolk and the wider UK, and standard mainland delivery is free within five working days, with a next working day upgrade if the office move has crept up on you.
Storage is heavy and steel cupboards arrive in one piece, so it pays to mention stairs, a small lift or a narrow doorway when you order. We are into offices around Ipswich, Stowmarket and Bury St Edmunds regularly, out to Haverhill, and up towards Norwich. Installation can be added so units land in position, get levelled and the pallets go back with the van. Ring 01473 464644 if you are not sure what will fit where.
