Everything in the Impulse storage family is finished in the same board and edge as Impulse desking, so a cupboard next to a desk reads as one piece of furniture rather than two purchases. The range covers under desk pedestals in standard and narrow widths, desk high bookcases that line up with a 730mm top, taller cupboards and bookcases in four heights, side filers, filing cabinets and a wall shelf. Choose it over general steel storage when the units sit out in the office.
Choosing Impulse storage
Height is the decision that shapes the room. A desk high unit at roughly 730mm butts onto the end of a desk and gives you extra surface for a printer or trays. The next size up, around 1200mm, is the tallest most people can reach without a step. Full height cupboards hold the most but block sightlines, so keep them against a wall or use them to divide a space deliberately.
For paper, work out whether you are storing lever arch or suspension files, because they want different things. Lever arch needs clear shelf height of about 320mm; suspension files need a proper filer, whether that is an under desk pedestal with a filing drawer, a side filer, or a two or three drawer filing cabinet. The common mistake is buying a bookcase and dropping plastic file boxes into it, which wastes the space. If it is all scanned now, one cupboard will do more than a wall of shelving.
Building a matching set
Impulse storage is designed to live with Impulse desks, so if you are ordering both, look at desks with storage where the pedestal is already specified, or the wider storage and filing section for options outside the range. Open shelving works well above a desk high unit, and cupboards and bookcases from other ranges get close on colour if you are topping up an existing office.
Office storage delivered across Suffolk, Norfolk and Essex
Office Masters is the online arm of Neil Andrew Office Solutions, a family run office furniture company at Edison Close on Ransomes Europark in Ipswich. Malcolm started it in the 1980s, Neil relaunched it under his own name in 2017, and the same team supplies and installs across Suffolk, Essex and Norfolk. Standard UK mainland delivery is free and takes up to five working days, with a next working day upgrade.
Storage benefits most from having someone fit it: cupboards arrive flat and heavy, doors need aligning, and tall units need fixing to a wall. We do that as a matter of course in Ipswich, Bury St Edmunds, Woodbridge, Colchester and Norwich. Send a sketch with the wall lengths on it, or call 01473 464644 and describe the room.
