Every desk here arrives with its pedestal already specified, so the drawer unit matches the top, shares the finish and turns up on the same delivery. It is all Impulse, which keeps things consistent whichever leg you pick: cantilever leg desks, panel end desks and cable managed desks are all represented, most with a scalloped edge top in 1400mm or 1600mm widths. Configurations run from one fixed pedestal up to two one drawer pedestals under a 1600mm top.
Choosing a desk and pedestal combination
A fixed pedestal is bolted to the desk and stays put, a different animal from the wheeled units in pedestals and drawers. Fixed wins when the desk is not moving and you want the knee space on one side kept clear, and it stops the pedestal wandering off to another desk. Pay attention to which side you order: a pedestal under a 1400mm top leaves roughly 900mm of clear leg room, plenty for one person but tight if a colleague regularly pulls up a chair to look at the same screen.
Then think about what actually goes in the drawers. A three drawer unit gives two shallow drawers and one deep enough for suspension files, while the one drawer versions suit an office that has gone mostly paperless but still needs somewhere for chargers and headsets. For more than one person's paperwork, a filing cabinet holds far more per square metre of floor. Cable managed legs earn the step up when power runs along the desk rather than dropping from the ceiling.
