The two ranges that do most of the storing in a working office. Impulse cupboards and bookcases come in four heights, so you can run a low unit behind a desk, a mid-height one that doubles as a worktop, or a full-height cupboard against a wall, with Impulse shelves and side filers to match. The Qube side is steel: a two-door stationery cupboard, a side tambour whose doors slide instead of swinging into a walkway, and roll out shelves. Wood blends with desking, steel takes more abuse. Both sit inside storage and filing.
Choosing a cupboard or bookcase
Decide what height you want the top to land at before anything else. A low cupboard around 730mm matches standard desk height, so it can butt against the end of a run and give a continuous surface for a printer or a kettle. Mid-height units around 1200mm are the ones people reach into without a step, and taller than that is archive space. Depth catches people out: a lever arch file needs roughly 320mm clear, so a shallow bookcase that looks neat will not take your files.
Then think about how the doors open. A hinged two-door cupboard needs around half a metre of clear swing, which is fine on a wall and awkward in a corridor, and that is where a tambour like the Qube earns its place. For a full wall of matched steel, the Qube steel storage system runs on one module, with more in steel storage and office cupboards.
Building a storage wall
Storage works better as a plan than a purchase. Paper that moves daily belongs in filing cabinets or a mobile unit from pedestals and drawers, leaving the cupboard for box files and stationery. Display goes on shelving, and in a room furnished in Impulse desking the matching pieces in Impulse storage share the same finish.
Storage supplied and installed around Ipswich
Behind Office Masters is Neil Andrew Office Solutions, a family firm at Edison Close on Ransomes Europark in Ipswich, supplying and installing office furniture since the 1980s and trading under Neil's own name since 2017. Cupboards are the least enjoyable thing to receive on a pallet, so it helps that we cover Ipswich, Stowmarket, Sudbury, Haverhill and Colchester with our own installation team as well as shipping nationwide.
Flat-packed storage takes time to build, and full-height cupboards want fixing back to a wall for safety, both of which we handle if you add pre-build and installation. Standard UK mainland delivery is free within five working days, with a next working day upgrade. Send the wall length, the ceiling height and a photo showing any radiators in the way, or ring 01473 464644.
