Cupboards for the things you need to hand but would rather not see, in the two ranges we sell most of. The Impulse cupboard comes in four sizes, with a desk high version that lines up with a desk run, an open shelves model for easy access and a mobile cupboard on castors. Qube adds a two door stationery cupboard and a side tambour that slides rather than swinging doors into a walkway. Most are lockable, and the taller sizes hold far more than a filing cabinet of similar footprint.
Choosing an office cupboard
Measure the swing before the box. A hinged door needs roughly its own width of clear space in front, which is exactly what a narrow corridor does not have, and it is the usual reason a cupboard ends up in the wrong room. Tambour doors slide inside the carcass, so a Qube side tambour works where a hinged pair will not open, and a desk high Impulse cupboard sidesteps it by doubling as a work surface.
Then count shelves rather than cubic metres. Lever arch files want about 320mm of clear height per shelf, so a cupboard sold as four shelves may only give three usable file levels. Adjustable shelves are worth having, because stationery, boxes and files all need different gaps. Think about who holds the key as well, and for personal belongings a bank of lockers beats one shared cupboard. Finish matters too: a cupboard is a large flat surface that will either match the desks or shout at them.
Building out the storage wall
Cupboards sit inside a bigger storage plan. Open display goes better in cupboards and bookcases or on plain shelving, while hard wearing storage for a workshop or archive belongs in Qube steel storage. Daily paperwork is happier in pedestals and drawers under each desk, Impulse storage keeps one finish throughout, and storage and filing covers the rest.
Office storage delivered across Suffolk
Office Masters is the online shop of Neil Andrew Office Solutions, the family run firm on Edison Close at Ransomes Europark in Ipswich. It goes back to the 1980s, when Neil joined his father Malcolm, and relaunched under his own name in 2017. Storage jobs take us out to Felixstowe, Stowmarket, Sudbury and Colchester, often into first floor offices where getting a tall cupboard up the stairs is half the work.
Free standard delivery covers UK mainland addresses and normally lands within five working days, with a next working day upgrade. Cupboards are bulky and awkward to build single handed, so plenty of customers add pre-build and installation and have them carried in and levelled. If you are unsure whether a unit will make it round your stairwell, send the measurements or ring 01473 464644 before you order.
