Three pieces that deal with paper properly. The Impulse filing cabinet is a steel upright with an anti tilt mechanism, so only one drawer will open at a time, and the Qube roll out suspended filing frame and Qube lateral filing frame turn a cupboard you already own into filing storage. Frames are the cheaper route when you have office cupboards standing half empty, and a cabinet is the answer where there is no cupboard to convert.
Choosing between a cabinet and a frame
Suspension filing comes in two orientations. Foolscap files hang front to back in an upright cabinet, which is the traditional arrangement and the most space efficient per drawer. Lateral filing hangs side to side across the width, which is quicker to flick through and better where several people share the same records. A roll out frame gives you the upright arrangement inside a standard cupboard carcass, so measure the internal width, depth and height of that cupboard before ordering, because a frame that does not quite fit is no use.
Two practical points. Anti tilt matters more than it sounds: a loaded two drawer cabinet is heavy, and one without the mechanism can go over if somebody opens top and bottom together, so keep the weight in the lower drawer. And be honest about volume: most offices now need one cabinet for contracts and HR records, with the rest going to steel storage or shelving. If it is personal clutter rather than paperwork, pedestals and drawers under the desk are the better buy.
The rest of the storage wall
Filing rarely sits on its own. Cupboards and bookcases give you a run at the same height for reference material, Qube steel storage matches the frames if you are building a whole wall from one range, and lockers cover personal belongings in an office where people hot desk. Filing storage across Ipswich, Suffolk and Essex
Office Masters is the online shop of Neil Andrew Office Solutions Limited, a family run company based at Edison Close, Ransomes Europark in Ipswich. Neil learned the trade in his father Malcolm's business in the 1980s and relaunched under his own name in 2017. We deliver and install across Ipswich, Felixstowe, Sudbury, Haverhill and Chelmsford, and ship to the rest of the UK mainland.
Steel cabinets arrive assembled and they are heavy, so tell us if there are stairs and no lift, and consider adding installation so it reaches the right room rather than reception. Standard UK mainland delivery is free within five working days, with a next working day upgrade available. If you are unsure whether a frame will fit a cupboard you already have, measure inside it and call 01473 464644.
