Impulse Plus is the screen family built around Impulse and Evolve desking, so brackets, heights and fabrics line up instead of being an approximation. It covers oblong screens with square or rounded corners, wave screens with a curved top edge, half vision floor screens for splitting a room, backdrop screens, and the shared Evolve and Impulse Plus bench screen that fits between desks facing each other. Heights start around 450mm; the wider choice sits in desktop and acoustic screens.
Choosing a screen height and shape
Height is the whole decision. A 450mm screen above the desk stops paperwork sliding across and marks out your own patch, while seated colleagues can still see and talk over it, which is what a collaborative team wants. Taller cuts the seated line of sight, and with it plenty of distraction, at the cost of a more closed in room. Floor standing half vision screens mark a zone in open plan without building a wall.
Check the fixing before ordering: this is where money gets wasted. A desk mounted screen clamps to a top of a particular thickness and needs clearance underneath, so a scalloped edge or full modesty panel may want a different bracket. Bench screens sit in the gap between two desks and rely on those being the matched pair they were designed for, which is why bench desking and screens are best ordered together. If the real complaint is noise, acoustic solutions is the better start.
What else works with them
Screens are one layer of a quieter office. Ceiling baffles deal with the hard surface above everyone's heads, usually the biggest culprit under a plaster ceiling, and privacy booths and pods give somewhere for a call that should not happen at a desk. Impulse Plus was designed around the Impulse contract desking collection and the Evolve Plus bench collection, while desktop and bench screens covers smaller runs more simply.
Screens delivered across Suffolk, Essex and Norfolk
Behind Office Masters is Neil Andrew Office Solutions Limited, a family run business at Edison Close on Ransomes Europark in Ipswich, with roots in Malcolm Andrew's company in the 1980s. We supply and install, so as well as boxes going out by carrier we spend much of the week putting furniture into offices in Ipswich, Bury St Edmunds, Chelmsford and Norwich.
Screens are light but awkwardly shaped, and fitting them to desks you already own is what catches people out, so it helps to know your top thickness. Standard UK mainland delivery is free within five working days with a next working day upgrade when a layout change cannot wait, and we can fit screens during an installation visit. Photograph the underside of one desk, send a plan of which desks face which, or call 01473 464644.
