Everything we stock for taming a noisy room, drawn mainly from the Sch! acoustic range: wall tiles in sets of four, wall and hanging screens, oblong and rectangle desktop panels, and the Hatch and Shade ceiling baffles. These are felt faced absorbers rather than soundproofing, so they soak up the reflections that make a hard floored office feel shouty by mid afternoon. Most rooms need several surfaces treated rather than one big panel, and desktop and acoustic screens handle the desk level part.
Choosing acoustic panels
Work out what the room is doing wrong. If speech carries and people talk over each other, you need to break the path between them, which desk level panels do. If the complaint is echo, the culprit is nearly always a hard ceiling and bare walls, so ceiling baffles over the busiest zone and wall tiles at head height earn their place quicker than more desk screens.
Coverage matters more than thickness. One panel on one wall of a glassy meeting room changes very little, while the same area spread across two surfaces makes the room noticeably calmer. Treat opposing surfaces rather than doubling up, and keep panels at head height where speech travels. Shade and Hatch baffles suit rooms where the walls are glass or whiteboard, and hanging acoustics work well over a breakout zone. Colour is worth a thought, since a run of tiles becomes a design feature whether you plan it or not.
The rest of the noise picture
Panels rarely fix a floor on their own. Screens between desks, such as the Impulse Plus screens, stop conversation carrying straight along a bench run, and a privacy booth or pod gives people somewhere to take a confidential call. Upholstery helps more than people realise, so soft seating in a breakout corner absorbs sound all day. The SCH! acoustic collection lists the range in full.
Acoustic panels for offices in Ipswich and East Anglia
Office Masters is the online shop of Neil Andrew Office Solutions, a family run company based at Edison Close, Ransomes Europark in Ipswich. Neil learned the trade with his father Malcolm from the 1980s and relaunched under his own name in 2017. Acoustic work takes us into converted spaces around Colchester, Bury St Edmunds, Sudbury and Felixstowe, where high ceilings and bare brick look wonderful and sound dreadful.
Standard UK mainland delivery is free and generally arrives within five working days. Wall tiles and desktop panels go up easily enough yourself, but baffles and hanging screens want two people and a ladder, so installation can be added. Send photos showing the ceiling and wall finishes, or ring 01473 464644, and we will suggest where to start rather than selling you panels for every wall.
