Desk mounted and free standing screens that give people privacy and take the edge off open plan noise. The Impulse Plus family covers oblong and wave profiles, rounded corners, backdrop screens and half vision floor screens, plus the Evolve and Impulse Plus bench screen. Fabric faced panels absorb a share of the sound that glass or laminate simply bounces back. The Impulse Plus screens listing shows the family in full, and acoustic solutions covers walls and ceilings.
Choosing a desk screen
Height decides what the screen is for. A 450mm panel sits just above a monitor and stops papers spilling between neighbours without cutting anyone off. Around 800mm blocks eye line when seated, while a half vision floor screen carries the divide to the ground and suits a walkway or a split between teams. Wave profiles drop lower at the front so the person opposite stays visible, and oblong panels give an even top line.
Measure the desk, not the room. A screen should match the width of the desk it clamps to, and on a bench one usually spans two desks. Check what the fixing has to grip, since a scalloped or cable port top eats into the clamping edge. If the desks are in place and you would rather not clamp anything, a backdrop screen stands on its own feet, which suits rented offices. Our desktop and bench screens listing has the bench specific versions.
Working with the rest of the floor
Screens are usually part of a bigger fix. If echo is the real complaint, add absorption overhead with hanging acoustics or panels from the SCH! acoustic collection, because a screen alone cannot quieten a hard ceiling. Where confidential calls are the problem, a privacy booth or pod does what no screen can. New desking at the same time fits naturally with bench desking runs.
Screens supplied and fitted across Suffolk
Office Masters is run by Neil Andrew Office Solutions, the family firm on Edison Close at Ransomes Europark in Ipswich. The business goes back to the 1980s, when Neil joined his father Malcolm, and relaunched under his name in 2017. Screens go out to offices in Stowmarket, Woodbridge, Norwich and Chelmsford, and into the converted mills we see plenty of locally.
Delivery to UK mainland addresses is free and normally takes up to five working days, with a next working day upgrade available. Screens can be fitted by anyone handy with a screwdriver, though on a live floor it is easier to have us clamp them while the desks are shifted, and installation can be added at checkout. Unsure which height suits your layout? Send a photo of the desks, or call 01473 464644 and describe the room.
