Desks that raise and lower on a powered frame, mostly from the Air range: Air Lite tops with cable ports, scalloped edge versions, the Oslo Air with its natural wood edge on a white frame, and the Black Ice for anyone who wants a darker finish. Set against a fixed top from desks and workstations, you are paying for the frame, so it is worth knowing exactly what that frame buys you.
Choosing a sit-stand desk
Check the travel range against the people who will use it. A standard column drops to roughly 680mm and climbs past 1200mm, which covers most adults, but a shorter user needs the bottom of that range far more than the top. Programmable presets are the difference between a desk that gets used standing and one that quietly stays down for two years. Where a desk is shared across shifts, presets also stop the arguing.
Cable slack is where sit-stand desks go wrong. A monitor lead that reaches at sitting height will not reach at standing height, and a taut cable pulls a plug or drags a screen. Order the spine and a basket at the same time from cable management, and bring power up through the desk with in-desk power modules instead of trailing it to the wall. A steel modesty panel tidies the back if the desk faces a walkway.
Finishing the workstation
Whole teams are usually better served by back-to-back bench desks, which share frames and swallow less floor. For the matching family, look at the Air sit-stand collection or the Oslo desking collection, and for darker finishes the Black Series range. A monitor arm keeps screen height honest in both positions.
Sit-stand desks delivered across Suffolk and Norfolk
We are Office Masters, the online side of Neil Andrew Office Solutions in Ipswich, a family business that has been fitting out offices in East Anglia since the 1980s and has traded under Neil's name since 2017. Powered desks go out regularly to Woodbridge, Stowmarket and Norwich, and over the border into Colchester, and the same team that sells them puts them together.
Free standard delivery covers UK mainland addresses in about five working days, and a next working day option is there when you need one. Height-adjustable frames are heavier than they look, so pre-build and installation are worth adding on anything more than a couple of desks. Email a plan of the room or call 01473 464644 and we will tell you what will genuinely fit.
