Sockets where people actually work, rather than behind a filing cabinet. The Volta family covers a one socket round module, a three socket under desk unit and a round pop up with four sockets and a wireless charging pad, while the Volta power kit pairs a desktop cable port module with an under desk module and a mains lead: four sockets, USB A and USB C, HDMI and CAT6. There is also an Impulse three socket desktop unit, a soft seating module for breakout areas, and Italia poseur tables with a pop up built in. The wider cable management and electrical range covers trays and leads.
Choosing the right module
Start with where the module has to sit. Pop up units drop into a cut out and vanish when they are not in use, which is what a boardroom wants. Under desk modules screw to the underside and suit fixed workstations where nothing has to look tidy from above. Check the cut out diameter against your desktop first, and if you would rather not put a hole in a good top, cable port top desks arrive pre drilled.
Then count what plugs in. Three sockets covers a PC, a monitor and a charger, but two screens and a dock fill four quickly, so buy a size up rather than adding an extension lead later. USB C at the desk saves a charger per person, HDMI matters where visitors present, and data ports are worth having if the building is not fully wireless. Over a long run, a chain lead from desk to desk beats a socket each, and a tray from cable management keeps the slack off the floor.
Where these go
Power modules are usually bought with the furniture they sit in. Meeting and boardroom tables and boardroom tables with power are the obvious homes, bench desking runs take an under desk unit per position, and the soft seating module is made for breakout and shaped tables and lounge corners.
