The small parts that make a desk work properly. Quick Release Monitor Arms lift a screen off the desktop and swing it round to share, the Jackson Height Adjustable Arms and the folding arms do the same job with different mountings, and the Laptop Cradle in Black raises a laptop so a separate keyboard makes sense. Universal strap PC holders and Impulse PC holders get the tower off the floor, and Impulse linking brackets join tops together. It all sits inside the wider office accessories range.
Choosing a monitor arm
Check three things: how the arm fixes, how much weight it carries and how far it reaches. A desk clamp grips the back edge and is the usual choice, but it needs a clear edge, so a top with a full modesty panel or a rear cable tray may want a grommet fixing through an existing cable port. Weight catches people out, because a large screen with a heavy stand plate can outreach a light gas cartridge and slowly droop.
The other trap is fitting an arm to a top it cannot grip, so measure the thickness first. On a sit-stand desk the arm travels with the top, so leave slack in the cables and route them through a spine, and the same goes at the taller settings of the height-adjustable desks. Aim to sit about an arm's length from the display with the top of the screen level with your eyes.
Tidying up the rest of the desk
Once the screen is in the air, the cables become the eyesore. The cable management and electrical section covers trays, spines and ties, while in-desk power modules drop sockets and data into the desktop so nobody crawls underneath for a plug. Linking brackets matter in a bench desking layout, since an unlinked run drifts apart over a few months of people leaning on it.
Desk accessories sent out from Ipswich
Office Masters is run by Neil Andrew Office Solutions, a family firm at Edison Close on Ransomes Europark in Ipswich, supplying and installing office furniture since the 1980s. Small items like arms and holders go out on free standard UK mainland delivery inside five working days, with a next working day upgrade when a new starter appears on Monday. Around Ipswich, Stowmarket, Bury St Edmunds, Felixstowe and up towards Norwich we are usually on site anyway.
Kitting out a whole floor? Send a photo of your desk edges and we will tell you which fixing suits them. Larger orders can have pre-build and installation added, so the arms arrive fitted and the screens set at the right height. Call 01473 464644 if you would rather talk it through than measure it yourself.
