Forty tables sit under this heading and they do very different jobs. The Oslo range covers the formal end with rectangular, oval and square boardroom tops, plus extension kits that let a room grow for a bigger meeting, while the Italia range handles the social end with square coffee tables and poseur tables on cross bases, some with a pop up power module dropped into the top. Choose by job in meeting and boardroom tables or bistro and cafe tables, or browse the Italia tables together for a matching set.
Choosing a table
Size the table by the people, then check the room. As a rule of thumb allow 600mm of edge per seat and at least 900mm of clear floor behind each chair so nobody has to squeeze past. An 1800mm oval seats six comfortably and eight at a squeeze. If the meeting room doubles as a training room, folding and flip-top tables on castors will nest against a wall in minutes.
Height is the other decision. Desk height suits laptops and paperwork, poseur height suits short stand up catch ups, and coffee height suits waiting areas. Poseur tops need high stools rather than ordinary chairs. If anyone will plug in during a meeting, build the power in from the start: retrofitting is fiddly and rarely as neat. The boardroom tables with power already have it, and bar and poseur tables cover the taller end.
Seating and shapes to go with it
Once the top is chosen, count the chairs. Visitor and conference chairs suit a formal boardroom, while something lighter works better in a canteen. If the space is informal, the shaped tops in breakout and shaped tables break up a long room far better than another rectangle, and box and post leg tables give a heavier, more permanent look.
Tables delivered across Suffolk and Essex
Office Masters is the web shop of Neil Andrew Office Solutions Limited, a family firm working out of Edison Close on Ransomes Europark in Ipswich. The people who take an online table order are the same ones who fit boardrooms and canteens in person, and they cover Stowmarket, Woodbridge, Sudbury and Chelmsford routinely, along with the rest of Suffolk and Essex.
Big tops are worth planning. Send a floor plan or a few measurements, including door and stair widths, before ordering an oval boardroom table: a large top still has to get into the room. Free standard UK mainland delivery normally takes five working days, next working day is available, and installation can be added so the table is levelled on the day. Call 01473 464644 if you would like a hand with the layout.
