Choosing your Impulse specification
The leg sets most of the look and the budget. Cantilever leg desks use the standard open frame: light, easy to shuffle, cheapest to add to later. Panel end desks close the sides with a solid board, which looks more finished from the front of a room and gives some modesty where desks face into it. Cable managed desks build a route for power into the leg, the sensible answer when several machines share one floor box.
Then the top. A plain straight desk is the most flexible shape and easiest to run in rows, scalloped edge desks take a shallow curve out of the front so forearms are supported, and crescent and wave desks give more depth in the middle for anyone signing paperwork beside a screen. The mistake we see most is buying the biggest top the wall will take, then finding nowhere to push the chair back.
Storage and screens that match
Impulse is meant to be finished off rather than left bare. Impulse storage shares the same finishes, so cupboards and side units read as part of the run, and pedestals and drawers go under the top or stand at the end as a second surface. If desks run face to face, budget for screens now, because ordering later usually means a slightly different fabric.
