Sixteen Impulse desks on a cantilever frame, where the leg runs down one side and curves under the top, leaving the whole span underneath open. Slimline, straight and scalloped edge tops are all here, plus versions that arrive with a fixed or mobile pedestal fitted. The open underside is why people choose them: nothing to bark a shin on, easy to clean under, and simple to add a second person on the far side later. Compare them with the closed look of panel end desks, or take the same leg on a curved top in crescent and wave desks.
Choosing a cantilever desk
Work out the top first. A 1200mm width takes a laptop and a notepad, 1400mm is the everyday office standard, and 1600mm leaves room for two screens and paper side by side. Most tops are 800mm deep, with slimline versions for narrow rooms and corridors, and the scalloped edge tops curve in at the front so you sit further into the desk with your forearms supported.
The trade off with a cantilever frame is cabling. There is no channel in the leg, so power and data hang unless you plan for them. Fit a cable management cartridge to the leg, or choose the equivalent frame in cable managed desks if the desk faces into the room and its back is on show. Decide on storage before you order too: a fixed pedestal is locked into the layout, while a mobile one from pedestals and drawers can be pulled out as a perch.
Finishing the workstation
A desk is the start of the layout. Add a monitor arm to claw back the desk space a stand eats, a desktop screen if two people face each other, and pick the rest of the room from the Impulse contract desking collection so tops and finishes match. The wider office desks section puts every leg type side by side.

Office Masters is run by Neil Andrew Office Solutions Limited, a family business at Edison Close on Ransomes Europark in Ipswich that has been furnishing offices since the 1980s. As well as selling online, the team measures up and installs, and desks go out to Stowmarket, Haverhill, Felixstowe and Colchester along with the rest of East Anglia.
Desks are the one item worth having built for you. Standard UK mainland delivery is free and usually five working days, next working day can be added, and pre-build or full installation means frames squared up, tops levelled and the packaging taken away. Send a floor plan through or ring 01473 464644 and we will tell you how many desks fit the run you have.
