This is a short, specific range for rooms people are shown into rather than rooms they work in all day. There is the Italia Volta poseur table, a standing height gloss table with a pop-up power module set into the top, and an 1800mm writable boardroom table supplied with a set of executive chairs. Gloss lacquer catches the light in a way laminate never does, which lifts a windowless meeting room. For the same shapes in everyday finishes and a wider spread of sizes, start with meeting and boardroom tables.
Living with a gloss finish
Be honest about the room first. Gloss shows fingerprints, dust and the ring left by a coffee cup far more readily than a matt top, which is fine for a boardroom used twice a week and less fine for a table people eat lunch at daily. Think about lighting too, because a gloss top directly under a row of downlights reflects them back at whoever sits opposite.
The writable top is the other feature worth understanding. It gives people a surface to draw on mid meeting, useful in workshops and planning sessions, though it wants dry wipe markers and a test in one corner first. Standing height changes how a meeting runs: short catch ups stay short and nobody settles in, which suits a spot beside the coffee machine more than a two hour review. Other standing options are in bar and poseur tables, and the rest of the Italia tables share the same thinking.
Finishing the room
The boardroom set arrives with chairs, but if you buy the table alone, pick something with presence from executive chairs or narrow it down in leather executive chairs. Keep clutter out of sight in a unit from cupboards and bookcases, and where a table has no power, in-desk power modules can usually be retro fitted.

Office Masters is the shop front for Neil Andrew Office Solutions, a family run business on Edison Close at Ransomes Europark in Ipswich. Neil started out in his father Malcolm's company in the 1980s and relaunched it under his own name in 2017, and the team has fitted boardrooms and reception areas in Ipswich, Woodbridge, Bury St Edmunds and Colchester. Delivery to UK mainland addresses is free and typically lands within five working days.
Large tables are heavy, and a gloss top is the last thing you want to drag through a doorway alone. Our fitters build it in the room, connect the power module and clear the packaging. Not sure an 1800mm table leaves room to walk round? Send the room dimensions or call 01473 464644.
