Where to start
Start with the desk footprint, because it sets everything else. Allow around 800mm behind each chair so people can push back and stand, plus a metre for the walkway past them. A 1400mm by 800mm top suits most people running two screens, and 1200mm is fine for a laptop and a single monitor. Fitting more than four people into one room usually goes better on bench desking, where shared legs and a central spine save a surprising amount of floor.
The common mistake is choosing chairs last and on price alone. It is the one item somebody sits in for seven hours, so settle it early: mesh for warm rooms, padded fabric for long days, leather where a bit of presence is wanted.
