Choosing a desk
Measure the room before you fall for a top size. Widths run from 1200mm to 1800mm, and you want about a metre of clear floor behind the chair so people can push back and stand without hitting a wall. Depth matters more than most expect: 600mm is fine for a laptop, but a 27 inch monitor on it puts you too close to the screen. Where floor space is tight, a corner desk adds working surface without using up more wall.
Then choose the legs, because that decides how the desk lives. Cantilever legs keep the underside clear and are easiest to shuffle around, while panel ends feel steadier and hide more. Monitor arms clear the surface and set screen height properly, which does more for neck comfort than any chair setting. Budget honestly for the task chairs too, and if you are looking at height adjustable frames, check your cables have enough slack to reach full height.
